Networking a key step in effective job search:
Job Networking could be defined as a type of networking often carried out by an individual with the intent to meet people who may be helpful in helping them make the necessary job connection:
More often than not, job seekers approach job networking from a very narrow point of view. They tend to confine job networking to job expo and job fairs.
In general, job networking should be seen as one of the most vital approach to an effective job search and requires a more aggressive approach.
A good and effective job networking should take a broader approach. Every social gathering could be a place for networking.
Don’t limit your networking endeavors to speaking or talking to recruiters and headhunters. Anybody could be of help in this regard.
“When you get to a social gathering try and socialize, mingle, introduce your self to people, make connections, exchange business cards” said Alice Wicox a top head hunter based in Ontario Canada.
She went further to say “ Don’t be shy go out there. Help could come from any angle she said. Talk to people, your parents, siblings, friends, relatives, co-workers, your teacher could be a good connecting link to landing a perfect job.
Before kick starting your networking, it is advisable to be prepared. Do your research and homework. Create a master plan and strategy.
